Paw Prints (Quarterly Edition April-June 2020)

Greetings,

We thank God for another opportunity to serve our community in these difficult times. We are reminded of our humanity, our need for one another and our dependence on God.

April: Although there were no outreaches, we continued to encourage families and keep them informed of resources.  We were donated cases of chicken and hygiene items that allowed us to help 9 families. For Resurrection Sunday, we provided candy and prayer to the children. We are making every effort to stay connected with the community and remind them Christ is greater than COVID.

During this slowed pace, we were able to get the van painted and detailed. What a difference a fresh coat of paint made for our rusty, peeling van. We are so happy for little things that make a big difference.

May: The children continued in “stay at home” mode with limited social settings. This was a perfect time complete an outreach called “Creativity in COVIDity”. We assembled art boxes and made masks for families.

We were so pleased with the response from children and parents wanting to express their creativity in the journals, drawing, reading a book and chalking the sidewalks. Art is such a great tool for positive expression and healing.

June: Happy Birthday Judah! We celebrate 8 years of serving, giving and loving our community.

We postponed our King & Queen Beauty Bash outreach, but look forward to other opportunities to pour out the love of Jesus on these children.

Thanks to all our supporters, families and housing staff. We appreciate all you do.

Creatively,

C. Liley McConnell
