Paw Prints Quarterly Edition (July-Sept 2020)

Greetings,

Our first outing since COVID was a King & Queen Beauty Bash in July. We are grateful for Daniel Saylor of Epic Luxury Limousine for providing free haircuts for the boys and a free limo ride for all the children. We took the girls to the nail salon for a manicure and provided lunch for everyone. The children were excited about the limo ride and enjoyed story time reading Heaven is for Real for kids.

Our goal is always to build relationships and point the children to Jesus. The children continue to attend church and love the activities available through our program.  We ensure safety by providing masks and monitoring children's temperatures.

August

We are so grateful for the donations that God provided over the last month from tubs of craft paint to educational resources. Thanks so much to our community partners and donors.

We sponsored a pool day with several children, but it was rained out. Thanks to the W.A. Foster Recreation Center for giving the children a rain check to return for free.  The children attended another pool party the next day and 5 children accepted Christ and were baptized.

On 8/15/20, we had a paint, pizza and ice cream party. The children displayed their beautiful art and enjoyed the process of creating.

We submitted an application for Joann's $100,000 Creative Grant to Black Sewer and Crafters. There will be 20 winners of a $5000 in store credit. If we are selected, the grant will be used to expand activities for the children to enjoy the arts with their creativity.

September

We continue to provide masks, take temperatures and maintain groups less than 10 with no incidents of COVID. We returned to our monthly birthday celebrations to make the children to feel valued and special.

The children enjoyed a special day at the skating rink. This was the first time roller skating for some of the children. While the children had fun, they were encouraged to explore new things to increase self-confidence and expand life skills. We provided lunch and then had a class of worship and prayer.

The children continue to be excited about attending church, flagging and engaging in children activities.
